MuseYourself / Web
About the project
MuseYourself is a social network for musicians that provides a home for music lovers where the users can find lyrics, chords and all kind of tools for musicians.
I designed their responsive website from scratch, starting from the wireframes, proceeding with the UX, UI and the entire branding.
The process I followed for this project was to identify the problem, empathize and understand, define the problem, ideate upon solutions and translate them into design, prototype and test. The process was non-linear and helped bring structure to my thinking.
Logo design
Brand character: Cool, Professional, Musical and Creative in an “easy to use” package. For the logo I used the familiar “rock on” gesture, as rockers do on music shows. I combined that gesture with the letter “M”, the first letter of the brand’s name, which also looks like a graphic equalizer. For the brand colors I used flat vibrate purple with purple pink gradient to radiate creativity and exploration, alongside light gray for functionally.
Prototype
Gathering all the features, tools and info into the product. At first I translated the ideas into a mid-fidelity wireframe prototype and revised them based on feedback. Next, I translated the ideas into design.
Branding & design
In this stage I proceeded with designing the visual elements that give the brand a face, which includes fonts, colors, illustrations, etc. These, with the logo, work together casting the clean, colorful, cool and professional look on the entire website and web app. My goal was to build a brand that serve creative and musical users, to be a comfortable and easy to use service so users can spend hours on it.
